I've got a few:
1) In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Peach's Peach Blossom theme is a sped up version of the Sky Land theme from Super Mario Bros. 3.

2) The Water Land theme from Super Mario Bros. 3 has a relation to the Fairy Fountain theme in later Zelda games from A Link to the Past onward.

3) In Mega Man X, X can find the secret Hadoken fireball and in Mega Man X2, X can get the Shoryuken.

4) Chun-Li has a cameo in Breath of Fire 1. While visiting Bleak, talk to the boy who thinks he is a magician. When he asks you to put coins on the table, agree to it. When he says ''Look behind you!'', say no twice and then yes once. After that, you should see Chun-Li practicing her Lightning Kick.

5) On the Super Game Boy, you can trigger the screensaver of your chosen border immediately by pushing L 4 times, R once, L 4 times, and R once.

While on the subject, she and Sakura appear in Breath of Fire III, within the audience members during the Contest of Champions.

Quote:The story goes that the director/producer was annoyed that the budget and team members he needed for this game were mostly taken by another in-house project for the SFC/SNES and thus got his own back by putting this little gem into the game.
The upshot of this was that Sega sent a fax to all its developers warning them not to deface other companies' characters or trademarks in their games.

yet in the sequel, on stage three, you get to kill flying moustached guys wearing yellow capes and blue overalls.
Big Bang and Tom Guycot from Clash at Demonhead appear in the background of Scott Pilgrim, and I have NO idea why.

Tom Guycot:

The game Met's talking about is Battle Mania/Trouble Shooter. Both this game and Clash at Demonhead is made by Vic Tokai.

Just a small coincidence, but nice nonetheless.
i feel i should play demonhead now. battlemania is one of the best shmups on the sega genesis.
At the end of Contra Rebirth you're greeted by the President of the United World.
