Mafia II is an action crime game that follow the life of World War II Veteran Vito Scaletta from 1945 to 1955 in Empire Bay, as he climbs the ranks of the Mafia with his buddy Joe Barbaro. He is forced into the Mafia because he needs to pay for his family's debts, but during the game the ''Family'' will become more important than his own. You will begin as a hired gun for the Mafia and you will eventually become a Made-Man.

The story begins with the player character Vito returning home from World War II. Vito had joined the U.S. military as a way of avoiding jail time for a botched robbery. Vito reunites with his old friend, Joe Barbaro, and the two quickly embark upon a life of crime. Their criminal ascension starts with Mikey, a car mechanic who gets in a conflict with Joe. Mikey also needs a certain type of car to chop for parts, and will pay $400 for one that the police are not tailing. Soon enough, Vito, Joe, and Henry Tomasino (already a made man) find themselves battling with, for, against, and around three crime factions: the Falconi, Vinci and Clemente families.

There's a demo? Well then I need to boot up the xbox and try it out. The game seems pretty well designed, everythign seems true to the era, and due to my love of this era's designs I'll probbably get this game.
So... Another GTA?

Ahhhh. Shmanks.
heard of the game before

hopefully it will be good compared to other mafia based games.
the demo was awkward as fuck and I hate that it has a time limit

game is a good idea but I can't get past how clunky and annoying the controls are
maybe it's just the 360 version idk, I doubt the ps3 would be too different. dont care enough to download it on my ps3 too
the game seemed really cool and true to the era, and i liked the first mafia

but when i got to the mission part it just seemed like a really average third person shooter with bad cover mechanics
also you can kill shop keepers with little to no consequence and steal everything in the store
