I think I aa'd correctly, this is the first time I aa'd at all.

I also just noticed the perspective issues hmmm :/

correct perspective isn't that important here because you have a limited number of colors and it'll be hard to represent the body parts when they overlap themselves. Instead, make a pose that can be read without any problem.

Just trying to give it that look:


notice the pose, a lot of old cartoon characters would raise their fists like that (actually with both hands but overlapping is a pain and i'm too tired)

Oh you updated before I could post my idea for it. You basically did it. I just don't feel the head is very mario-ish. Body is too Luigi like aswell. Fatten him up. Make the head more mario like?

make him more round and plump, he's too slim.
