am I the only person in the world who LIKES regenerating health? I'm not saying that regular health is bad, but I loathe having that one horribly placed enemy that you can't get past when you're stuck left with a tiny sliver of health and no hp regen items to use.

With regenerating health, you can at least wait to take stuff out.

A good compromise for the people who dislike it would be to include the regen, but make it work reeeeeeeeallly slowly. Like, 1HP every 30 seconds, or something. At least then it'd feel more like a traditional FPS.

one thing I think MWF2 got right was the perk system.
I like how you unlock new abilities and stuff as you play.
Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4 had the perfect idea with their health systems.

Your health didn't regenerate when you stopped taking damage for a certain amount of time; instead, if you stay completely still, your health will start regenerating slowly. The speed at which your health regenerate also depended on your stamina (or in MGS4's case-- Psyche.)
MGS4 provides you with much less health and Psyche than its predecessor, so your health will naturally recover much quicker (but it will still take a good 1-2 minutes to fully recover if your health is really low).
While we're on this whole health talk business, am I the only one who's pissed about the general disappearance of health meters? Don't get me wrong, the whole "red haze and blood on my face" bit is all well and good for immersion and such, but I find it to be really inexact when judging how close or far you are from dealth.

You know what first-person game I'd like to see? Breakdown 2.

That's not a bad health model, though, that's bad map design.

Actually, Advent Rising did this, and it worked fairly well. But that one wasn't an FPS, so eh.

I miss the days of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. I just can't get into most new FPS games... they all look the same...

...you can heal by being idle in X3?
^The Gold Armor, or rather just the Chest Part or it might have been the Head, I don't remember which, caused X to recover health very slowly by not moving.
that was the golden head
i like how pills work on L4D.
