Quote:why the fuck haven't Persona 3 and 4, Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Soulless Army and Radiou Kuzunoha vs Kingabbadon been mentioned.
Persona just seems kind of weak to me in comparison to the main series, like Nocturne, that's all

also more suggestions;
breath of fire III
breath of fire IV
wild arms 2
dragon quest IV: chapters of the chosen
Xenosaga

i'm going to downrep you for enjoying that shit.
hey you know what quest 64 was my favorite game when i was like 8

i thought the battle system was pretty creative :c
Dragon Age: Origins
Mass Effect
Neverwinter Nights 2
Fire Emblem (GBA ones, or the DS one)
and maybe Fable 2

Games where your decisions have permanent consequences are the best.
If you're an action RPG type of person, you might be interested in the Ys series.

basically every game works that way.

Not to the extent of the ones I mentioned.

If a character in your party dies in Fire Emblem, they're dead for the rest of the game. It actually makes you care about your tactics and whatnot because if you rush in with everything you have early on, it'll screw you in the lategame.

And Dragon Age/Mass Effect have really indepth stories that vary depending on how you play. It's not just "would you like to hit this innocent man with an axe? y/n. ok cool you're evil now."

I don't think "basically every game" works like that.
How come no-one mentionned Chrono Trigger and Earthbound yet.

>:U !
8) well, now I just did!
Whenever I play Fire Emblem, I always save scum.
If a character dies and they're not supposed to die for the story, I restart the battle.
No exceptions.

This is actually much harder than it sounds, as many times I'm at a point where I can easily finish the battle, but I just happen to lose a guy withing the last three or so turns.
Quite frustrating and time consuming, but I know it'll help a lot later in the game.
i don't care. if a game does not have a shotgun and involves killing zombies/robots then its not a game for me.

Yeah, I don't really consider that cheating. It's still an incentive not to let anyone die. And they take precautions to make sure you have to restart the mission if you do that. I do it as well.

Sometimes if someone I don't really care about/I have a replacement for dies and the mission was really hard I'll let them die, but that's pretty rare.

that's pretty closed minded of you metaru

i've played some great games where there weren't any shotguns to kill the zombies or the robots

just lasers and stuff
they're still good

Fire Emblem 8 does have zombies. As does dragon age.

And mass effect has both Zombies (husks) and shotguns.
now i see why i like grandia 2 so much.
