The critical hit is actually scripted, you totally had control over it

It was much better when...
Still though, it feels like it drags sometimes, when doing all Mercy. But I'm at least having fun with the game~ I can see where some of the simplicity of the graphics shine through, but couldn't they have at least given the girl some more animation besides just walking? Lol. She's constantly like Defeated too. Basically me after a long week of college classes.

Don't worry, the character has more than a walking animation. I won't mention anything else because spoilers

I'm pretty sure the player's gender is ambiguous on purpose. It can be either or

Yeah, the soundtrack early on is pretty weird. It's primarily chiptunes with some high-def instruments here and there. But as the game progresses, the chiptune instruments become less common and you get an even balance of the two. It's cool to see how as the game becomes progressively less like other RPGs, the soundtrack evolves as well.

Oh, and don't feel too bad about that mistake you made. It's something that happens to a majority of first-time players (including myself).  Unsure

Ripping my hair out at...
Dance music making me think of Le Serpent Rouge from Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness.

Try eating a bunch of Glam related food. It adds a giant bonus to the ratings, and you get to interact with one of the best NPCs

it's and artistic choice, it's pretty common actually. it has a feeling of nostagia while still feeling fresh and new.

many other tracks that did it;

i also still think that people should enjoy the game the way they want it to. even if it means that people are going to be obnoxious little pricks about it and declaring it's the best thing ever since the fall of nazi germany or something.

i like the game a lot, going as far as to say it's one of the best game that came out this year because it appeals to me. i love earthbound and all the other Mother parts. I enjoy games like galaga and Touhou from time to time. so it's pretty much a great situation for me. it's sense of humor appeals to me aswell.

the point; is fuck everyone else. you're playing the game in the end for your amusement. not that of the rest of the world. if you don't enjoy this game then it's fine, hell maybe it's just not your kind of game and you got carried away with the praise the others gave it.

being a game journalist and art concept creator myself; i do understand where Koh's coming from. but i do not agree with him on one bit. telling people to stay clear from hype? man fuck that. what's hype anyway? it's almost like the word ''hater'' i also just can't stand. just because you don't agree with someone's opinion, point of view or actions you're a hater? hype is literally just people being excited for something that they would like to share. maybe others get excited too? or maybe they just don't give a fuck. it's as simple as that. at least worth a try.

saying don't buy into hype is almost like saying '' don't be excited because i don't know if i would like this yet.'' which seems to me like a pretty arrogant thing to say to me. let people just enjoy the game and all that's surrounding it right now.

that being said i would like to see Koh doing a break-down of this game, just to see what kind of opinions people have about this game. it's already a very creative game on it's own, so i would like to see what people liked about it but also what could be better.

i think it's pretty hilarious actually that the main character is looking like he/she doesn't give two fucks about what's going on the entire time

I restarted genocide, but bailed before the ending. I beat the boss after like 20+ tries and became satisfied.

the only problem i have with this game, and a minor one at that, is that the game expects you to be a virtual Mahatma Gandhi. I mean, you can do whatever you want, but there's a serious guilt trip (and sudden trouble) if you choose some paths.

Fighting in this game is really fun and it kinda sucks when you can't do it without feeling like the reincarnation of Genghis Khan all the time

The one you told me about on Skype is probably one of the worst ones to get. It is just so painful and drags on and on.

Finished the game, with the best possible Pacifist ending, and wrote my thorough, unspoilery review on Steam.

TL;DR: It's an enjoyable experience that has several annoying and frustrating things about it. But overall, you're treated to a unique gameplay experience.

this is very much true.

i too think the battle system is actually pretty fun, it's almost like a timed gold like mini game. and i happen to be pretty good at those.
but i'm afraid to battle most of the enemies because sooner or later it will start effecting what ending you will get or something.

also; nice review Koh
