LEGO Battles ripping

You can use this to decompress.

Run it.
Drag onto window.
It will decompress them.
They are regular NCGR files now.

Some are weird and are not actually compressed, but still have the "COMP" header.
This should auto remove the header, but if it doesn't you can just manually delete it up until it has the "NCGR" magic. Or you can upload the file and I can fix the program to do it.

ok

i suspected compression, or.... encryption!
thanks!

I'll try that when done helping my mom!

seems to work

mentioned you on the site I moderate/contribute to (and it's the true parent site of this project, actually)
http://marsmissionwiki.wikifoundry.com/t...s_48233829

and here's the extracted filesystem as viewed in tinke, now:

That should be enough help for now, but I request the moderators/admins do not lock this thread yet, in case I run into anything else that stumps me. (also, the image embeds here will fail when the directory they're in gets moved, and the Crystalien Redux team (myself and two others) will be doing that, soon...so I'll have to update them when that happens)

Thanks again, Ploaj!

We generally don't lock threads anyway in case more comes to light later or people want to revive them. Glad it worked out!

Are you going to submit these to the site? Big Grin
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

k

YES!
One of them (and the game's section) is currently pending, been waiting a few days, now...
However, i will be updating that rip, as the hard-rip and direct-rip have slight color differences. I also intend to sheet them in a ready-to use format. I was also reading a thing about transparency vs. a solid background. Given these sprites have transparent regions in the middle, sometimes, I'm definitely using transparent bg's. Hope that's not an issue?

So...

I've run into a slight issue

see attached

most of the menus in this game (excluding the hud when a level is in progress) have buttons that glow when selected, and also have a gold frame when selected or pressed...

now, there are only three pieces i can find for these buttons, slit across two files per menu.
the first file is the menu background. the second file contains the button overlays... there's one for selected, disabled, and the frame overlay.

So, I'm thinking the game uses transparency tweaks to create the pulsating glow effect

I've attached a 9-step strip I made by starting selected overlay transparency at 0 and going up by 32 each time, the menu background, and the overlays...

Will my attempt at replicating this effect work?
Should I still upload the individual parts? (provided, in "proper" sheet form)

I've sheeted all the hero units
I've just got to make icons for them, now!
Then I'll submit them!

So, should I upload these with the transparency effect already applied?
Or just as -is?

I suppose I'll just upload those as-is, then.
I seriously need to get these rips finished so I can delete the extracted ROM from this computer.

I have another problem, though, I'm actually unable to find several graphics, all related to menus.

I also might need someone to TRY and organize the tilesets

To be honest, even with the ability to instantly rip basically anything, I'm feeling overwhelmed at times by the sheer amount of content, and how it is laid-out.

Wow...I started to think this thread has been forgotten.

It's next on the list, but right now I'm in no mental or emotional state to work on anything, anymore... /:

I'll try to get this done and over with soon.

I also took a gander at the battles: ninjago filesystem again.
There are some more currently unknown formats.
I'll attempt some research on them, first, but more than likely, I'll need some professional help again.
In fact, battles: ninjago appears to have an entirely different layout structure from the first game, in general.

That's all I have to say for now.
