Well generally, headers only appear at (or near) the start or end of a file; very rarely is it somewhere random in the middle. You'll probably have to look for some sort of similar thing in a different file, which indexes the files in this one.

I took a better look and I think I can make a script to extract all the segs files without filenames (just numbered), if that's sufficient for you.

Let me see if I can do a search; if the files are named the same as on the X-box disc I might at least be able to find Margaret's files. I just worry about extracting segs, because I haven't been able to get exsegs to work on either of my main computers.

I'll be able to let you know if I found anything on my lunch break.

Okay, all I could see were seg headers. Frustrating.

The only other files that are on the disc are:
* param.sfo
* ps3logo.dat
* licdir\lic.dat
* usrdir\eboot.bin

Everything else is either icons, movies, or part of the trophey data.

Dammit; just got confirmation that Margaret's data is not complete on the PS3 disc either.

I'm removing the .bin file since it's not needed anymore. Not sure where the heck I'm going to get her data now.

All right, small update before I crash for the night.

I have some friends looking out for Margaret's files. Hopefully there's some way to get her complete data; someone had to have done it already, because Marie's files are not complete on either disc either, but I managed to get a hold of them. If anyone here wants to try and help out, her files start with "char_nx", and are followed by "_img" for her regular files, "_mgn" for her glasses, "_pal" for her pallets, and "_vri" for her battle effects images.

As I said before, I'm still going to provide sets for returning characters as well. That's just a bit slow going at the moment (the program Dazz suggested doesn't work for most of them, and using Ploaj program forces me to convert one image at a time with most characters).

My next big tackle? Face sets! Like so!

Now, I have a feeling I'm going to need to use exsegs to convert the files so they can be read, but I still can't get that program to work on my computer. It keeps saying that there's a .dll file missing when it's... not. I'm guessing it just doesn't play well with 64-bit Win7. I'm going to try on my XP laptop, but if that doesn't work, is there an alternative out there for exsegs?

...okay, I'm losing my mind with this exsegs program. It is just not working on anything I own. On Windows 7 it comes up that MSVCP110.dll is missing from my computer when it is not, and on Windows XP it comes up that it's not a valid Windows 32-bit program. I even tried to recompile the program using the .CPP file in my Pellas IDLE compiler for C and C++, which is the same compiler that got me through college, and it can't even make heads or tails of the program.

Can someone please help me?

That's very weird, it works fine for me. Try moving MSVCP110.dll into the folder where the .exe is, maybe it just can't find it.

If that doesn't work I can try make my own version of it, which should have less compatibility/dll issues. The source code doesn't look too complex.

Well, I copied it over, and now I've got "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)."

Kinda... done with trying to get this to work, no offense to the original creator. Could you please make a version, Puggsoy?

Oh yeah, guess who just got a copy of Margaret's 360 DLC data. Oh yes~ >8D

So, her file is just an extension-less file, but I opened it in my hex editor and I can see very clear file names and folders within. Is there a tool to crack this open, or will someone here need to look at it and point me toward what to do?

EDIT: Whoops, I actually found something! YES!

We will indeed need the file to look at.

Also, just so you know, I am working on an exsegs alternative; it's just taking some time, I'm quite busy with school at the moment.

I was able to find a DLC extractor! I just wasn't using the right words for my Googling before. It's here, if anyone wants a copy. Apparently it can be used for more than just 360 DLCs.

Understood; school is more important. Thank you for working on it; I really appreciate it.

Can you put up a couple of segs files for me to test with?

Here you go!

That should be the uninjured base graphic and some eye blinking animations for Adachi.

These aren't segs unfortunately, they're just uncompressed HIP files.

A R G H

Then how am I supposed to view them? I spent hours in TileG-whichever and couldn't get something that made sense to appear.
