Help with sprite sheets?
#1
I wanted to use some Mario 2 sprites for a project, but the background was blue. Is there anyway to give individual sprites transparent backgrounds, or maybe the entire sheet?

Most image editing programs have the ability to select a colour on an image and remove it. Doing this with the background of an image will give it a transparent background. However the program must support transparency; for example Paint.NET, Photoshop, and GIMP. In some cases you must also add an alpha channel to the layer you're working on (for example in GIMP, right-click on the layer and select "Add Alpha Channel").

Hopefully that helps, but if not please specify which program you're using.

I am using SAI, although I do own Paint.NET. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's possible in SAI, if not you should be able to in Paint.NET. I personally use GIMP for all my image editing, including making and using sheets.
