When I originally tried to save it as a GIF in Animation Shop 3 it erased the basic blue skin colour [yay British] and added dithering on the bag. I tried several times to change the settings when saving but to no avail.

I used... Animation Shop 3! Because it's awesome and free (yeah I just rhymed). Before you save it: Optimize it! Set the bar to the top, click customize, set it to 255 (or is it 256? Whatever the top one is, I forget if it counts Transparency or not) colours and the top option beneath that "Octree" or something like that, it's above something like Median Cut, (I forget the names and I'm on a different computer at the moment). Then save. That should save it without any quality being lost what so ever.

Sadly even if you tick the "Use these settings when saving unoptimised GIFs" you'll still have to do it every time (though it only takes a second) as it always seems to go to Median Cut each time and tries to lower the colours.
