I wonder... How many people here have heard of the Dreamcast Remake of this game ?

PROOF THAT A DREAMCAST REMAKE EXISTS!! (Sadly very rare to find and have to sell your legs and kidney to buy it.)

To what I see from this site I see the sprites ripped from the Original Arcade Game and the PSX port -
http://www.spriters-resource.com/arcade/...heet/19801
http://www.spriters-resource.com/psx_ps2...heet/19802
http://www.spriters-resource.com/psx_ps2...heet/19803

Just surprises me that I don't see the Dreamcast Sprites (Which it is alot better then the Arcade & PSX sprites..) of this game as well as ripping sprites from other Dreamcast games when I seen some people ripping sprites from PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii...

Are Dreamcast games really that hard to rip sprites from?
This just boggles my mind, I'm hoping there is someone that can please rip the sprites of Patra-kun from the Dreamcast Remake, (I would die as a happy man to have the Dreamcast sprites..) if there's anyone that has played the Dreamcast Remake or knows how to rip Dreamcast sprites ir interested in ripping sprites from the Dreamcast Remake that no one ever heard of and played, please post here or send a PM to let me know..

I remember looking into ripping Dreamcast sprites a while ago - and indeed it is much harder than any other console.

I might look into this game, though, as the previous incarnations were quite simple to rip from...
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

If you're unable to rip 'em for whatever reason, I can always do so. Smile

Found out there's a method of texture dumping - if there's an easier way besides finding the sprites in game and dumping, jump right in. Here's everything I found of actual use within 10 minutes of playing...

edit: sorry about the BMP file format... I'm too lazy to convert it all.

Thanks so much Dazz, never I thought someone would try this forgotten gem sooner... This looks like a pretty good start, there is still more to rip from Patra-kun..

I have found a few pixel errors on the ones on the red squares I marked here -

Which now I just fixed them here -
[Image: patrakowip.png]

So ya can replace the old one..

There is still more frames she's missing as ya can see here - http://www.spriters-resource.com/arcade/...heet/19801 so this sheet is not done yet but I'm very grateful ya made quite a start.

To what I see here -

I like how it's larger and in better detail then the PSX port -

Think ya can please rip the rest and put it on a sheet like this? (As well for the cutscenes too..)

So ya are saying the Sega Dreamcast is harder to rip then from the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 & Wii? I wonder why if so.... ? (I would really love to learn how to rip from Dreamcast games...)

If it's really that hard as ya say it is to rip from it then how about ya Dazz and Random Talking Bush team up to rip the the rest of the Dreamcast port together?
(Now I'm in your dept...)

It's pretty easy... Get NullDC, and an application called Texmod. Run texmod in logging mode, and then boot up nullDC as the target application.
When playing the game, press the plus and minus buttons on the numpad of your keyboard until the thing you want to rip turns green.
Then just hit return/enter, and it'll dump it.

With this game, it luckily dumped a fair few sprites at one time.

The problem however with the cutscenes, is that they are done in several pieces, so in order to dump just a single image, you have to dump a crap load of images and put them together.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot if I can ever get the DC emulators to run on my computer which I have alot of trouble doing...

Going to try to rip these 1st -

Think ya or Random Talking Bush (Or both of ya team up would be better.) can finish the rest of that sprite sheet ya started?)

Thanks for the advice, I will try to rip the cutsences after.
