Hero? Check. Best friend? Check. Adversaries? Check. Crystals? Check. Cid? Check. Airships? Check. Job system (arguably the best one in the entire Final Fantasy line.) Check. Hard as shit bosses? Check. Intriguing storyline? Double Check. Side Quests? CHECK. Hmmmm....Choco-CHECK!!

Literally has everything FF games are known for and does everything it was suppose to right, and leaves you satisfied.

Cid is in basically every since FF game.
Everything I listed were FF cliche's as in most if not all are in every game. My point was it's not even in the main series and contains everything people love(d) about the games. The difference is how they were implemented and how well done everything in the world came together.

Wait what? because some FF games did not have some of these things and I think you are overreacting about my post. I literally only mentioned that he was in every game.
No no that is not a comeback post I'm just trying to explain add to what you said. "Yeah he IS every game, AND...." That's why it's one of my favorites. Also it was the first PS1 RPG I ever owned.

For the PS1 I owned FF7, FF9, and FFT. FF7 wasn't the greatest, FF9 and FFT I loved however.

hi i'm here to defend last blade 2.
you know which of neo-geo's tracks i remember, out of all the ones i've played? only those from last blade 2. we didn't even realize that some stages were mere ambience.
the characters are some of the most appealing i have seen, even though some were cliche. man, i have a huge boner for Okina and the number of times i have shit on everyone's day playing him. and Mokuro. SHIIIIIIIWARIWAAAA!!!

i don't play too many games, but those i like i play FOREVER OMNOMNOM.

I love it now mainly because of nostalgia, but also it was a long game (many stages) that has a great special stage system, and great artwork.

In more recent time, Halo: Combat Evolved. It was Halo at it's core, without any of the added crap. It was a good competitive shooter, while being fun to play casually as well. The single player was the best of the series by far with it's interesting setting, the initial surprise of the flood, and the 4 way battles (between sentinels, flood, covenant and you). The weapons also all felt unique without there being clones. Plasma freeze was awesome. The game in general was just great. The best console FPS of all time.

not the best, but at least the greatest of the series. or the most solid of them all.

She's not generic, she's Akari, bitch! And she's in a bunch of SNK spin-offs for a reason, punk. She's leagues over any other SNK or Capcom character in terms of personality, charm, cuteness and craziness (although Waku Waku 7 has some close contenders). She even has her own slot machine! Angry

Maybe I should have put a comma between the ambient SFX and music statement that followed after it. Don't get me wrong about Samurai Showdown, I like the games and their music, especially Nako and Rimu's themes. The arranged album is great too. But I think Last Blade's soundtrack is so much better as it actually gives the game itself character, not just the characters like Samurai Showdown's soundtrack. Akari is technically the only character in Last Blade that has her own theme song, which never existed until the arranged album was released.

I have alot of games that I love, but Majora's Mask is on the top of the list.

The world was so involved, and how each character developed, and changed through day to day was impressive. It may have been a dark game, then again I always liked somewhat dark things. It told a story, that was much more mature than the first, and despite some of the playful designs of the characters, it really was a game intended for an older crowd. At the time it came out I was to young to really appreciate it, I was more like "OOOH NEW ZELDA GAME" but playing now that I'm older and can see more into it, it really was a great game, story, and it had a pretty rad sound track.

majora's mask could barely be considered 'dark', i don't even get where the "it may have been a dark game" comment came from because even by zelda standards its pretty run-of-the-mill in that sense

"but--"
yeah, no
the 'darkness' of the game is right on par with the other zeldas

it's darker than oot, which is really dark compared to the zeldas before it. wind waker wasn't dark at all, and tp was darker than mm.

in terms of darkness it's probably

tp > mm > oot > alttp > la/oracle games > zelda 1 = zelda 2 > wind waker. skyward sword will probably be somewhere between lttp and oracle, since it doesn't look that dark at the moment.

oot itself wasn't really dark until you went into the future, whereas mm was dark throughout the whole thing-- defined not just by the graphic style, but by the character interaction, the storyline itself, the moon, the skull kid legend, the mask salesman, and the interaction with the masked children inside the moon.
