I know these look silly and nobody's ever going to use/want them, but that was exactly why I picked them for the first sprites that I ripped.

I wouldn't know for sure since I could never get far in this one without knowing japanese, but even in the NES Wagyan games, there were usually a lot of animations or abilities Wagyan could get, or at the very least some alternate colors. You're positive that's everything?

There was a blue Wagyan, and in this game his abilities differed upon the environment somewhat, but I only captured the normal grounded Wagyan. As for powerups, I don't think there were any except invincibility which I admit I forgot to include...
