Hello fine folks! Here I will be posting the various sprites intended for use in my new comic, The Land of Love: An Atarian Adventure.
The Plot is as follows.
The Land of Love is a peaceful place on the edge of reality and fantasy that propigates good feelings and charm. It's a sickeningly sweet place that is made of joy and happiness, and other such adorable nonsense. Overall, if you lived there, you'd probably be just as wrapped up in the affairs of others and the generosity of the holidays year-round. One fine day an adventurer by the name of Sir Locke happened upon this sweet place and discovered it's immensely valuable nature of good will. This adventurer was from a far off land called Til'Dun, where things were much less lovely and things had been overindustrialized. Where all the fancy flower gardens had been were now shopping malls and smoke-belching factories. Many people, mostly dirty hippies and the upper class snobs, wished to get away from the land of Til'Dun and live the rest of their lives in peace and harmony with their fellow man. This is where the worlds collided. Sir Locke reported back to the King of Til'Dun and told him of the amazing place he had discovered. The King was intrigued, and he quickly sent his only son as ambassador to the Land of Love. His son, named Prince Emory, met with and soon fell in love with the beautiful Princess Tera of The Land of Love. Princess Tera's father, King Archibald, had died earlier that year and the Princess was left in the care of the Chanceller Crepe. Pickign up on the Princess' distress, Crepe encouraged the propigation of love between Tera and Emory. Soon it came to pass that the prince and princess were to be married. On their wedding day there was to be a mass celebration. Many were invited. Just before the ceremony, the cake exploded and out popped a devious wizard who announced his name to be Grendor, and that the Land of Love was now to be known as the Land of Loathe. With a swift swing of his wand, a massive portal opened and from which descended legions of monsters to terrorize the lands. The wicked wizard then abducted the princess with the help of some of his alien friends, and fled to his hidden lair from which to plot more evil. Prince Emory quickly swiped a sword from a nearby display case and leapt into the fray, slaying monsters as he made his way out into the land with his best man, Sir Locke. Together they adventure in the swiftly changing Land of Love, and work to defeat the wicked wizard, to return peace and tranquility to the lands and most importantly, to rescue the princess.
