the sprites have a nice style going on, it's cartoony and detailed enough at the same time,

Luigi's off-balance, change the stance. Do away with DK's dithering on his hair, as that doesn't really add anything to the sprite. Revise his muscles so it doesn't look like sausages: look how muscles are distributed over the arm, and try emulating it.
