I agree with C2B. If you had spend a bit more time after scanning it to take out some of the extra artifacts (like those small black splotches here and there and maybe even the dark thing on the left (I'm guessing you draw in a book of some sort?)), it might make it look much more "professional."

Your stuff still looks pretty nice, though.

RE: Galeria de Jesus Lizard
What?
Do you mean like the under drawing work, with the basic sketch evolving from a skeletal base into a full fledged drawing?
Enlighten me. :/

:I
Your forms don't look 3D because you're not establishing them as 3D, basically
you're just freehanding with no underlying sketch or structure, when you don't yet have a good enough idea of form or dimension to be able to get away with freehanding. It's patently obvious that you're drawing straight onto paper with zero structure beforehand and just kinda winging it as you go along.

RE: Galeria de Jesus Lizard
I could say I've been trying the whole underlying structure thing, but I won't lie like that.
I really should do the before-work, but I just don't want to.
By the time I've almost completed the structure I'm sick of the picture and want to do something (anything) else.
Things that take that much patients aren't my thing, but I'll start giving it a go. :<

When I first started drawing all the underlying stuff I felt the same way. You kind of get used to it. It's not something you can possibly get away with not doing -- it's totally necessary to take your drawings to a higher level. Once you do it enough times it should feel a lot more natural and less like a chore, so don't get too bummed out about it...!

Yeah, I know I'll adapt to it eventually. :/
Guess I'll start some general structure studies next time I open the sketch book.
Thanks all
