Final Fantasy: Revelations

This is the first hack I'll have done that is considered to be a "total conversion hack".
That being said, I'd like to give you guys and gals a little input on what I'll be doing.
First thing you notice above this is the names from various Final Fantasy games.

I have carefully selected characters from previous Final Fantasy games and put them into
this rom hack which I'll be calling "Final Fantasy: Revelations".
You may be asking your self where Final Fantasy 1 and 3 characters are.
To simply put it, I didn't think the game developers developed the characters within those games very well, but who am I to judge?

The basic plot with this game is that Exdeath was thought vanquished but was not. He has been aquireing strength though the use of "X-Zone".
As we know, once the spell is cast on an enemy, the enemy is sucked into the Cleft Dimension. We learned about this in Final Fantasy 5.
Exdeath has been absorbing the life force of enemies that have been sucked into that dimension where he is trapped and he's been gathering his strength back.

After Exdeath has gained enough strength, he can not escape the rift but has found a way to escape by the help of another great evil.
Kefka is not aware of Exdeath at the moment but though the powers he's acquired from the espers, he can control the rift though "X-Zone".
Exdeath had enough of his tainted aura to send anyone on the outside a sort of "telegraph" that he was stuck in there.
Kefka became greedy and wanted that power inside the Cleft Dimension and opened it causing a temporal distortion.
This temporal distortion flung characters from other final fantasy games into this one, along with Kefka at his most powerful state back to when he
was a mere general to Emperor Gestahl.
Kefka polluted the time line by killing off most of the under-leveled protagonists from his normal time line.

(He doesn't kill Gau, Setzer or Terra because:
1. He couldn't find Gau, or Setzer.
2. He didn't want to palute the timeline for the empire, if he killed her he wouldn't have known about the power from espers.

Kefka told his former self about the Magicite and how it would make his former self as powerful as he is now.
That ensured God-form Kefka that he would still have his esper powers and God powers.

Once this was put into place, Exdeath began telling Kefka of a power no one had ever conceived before. The power of Void.
Kefka was very interested in this power, as well was Exdeath.

So it became a battle to open the cleft dimension once more and gain the power of Void.
Will Exdeath allow Kefka to ascend to an even greater godhood by acquiring the power of "Void" or will he betray him?


This is what my story is based on, I'm still working on a few kinks that are screwy with the time line.

So far, I'm working on sprites for those new comers in this rom hack.
I currently have Dark Knight Cecil and Kain finished they're completely working.
I had to replace Cecils "Dark Wave" ability with General Leo's "Shock" ability.



If you would like to help out with the sprites, please tell me which you'd like to work with, this is how the sprite sheet is set up:
Just use the regular Battle Sprites and add a few more for OW.
