I wanted to say that this is really cool. It'd be great to have drag&drop though (defaulting to Auto, probably, or a selectable default option) and the option to save the new image as a new file (probably with a definable filename suffix; so I could set that to "_preview" and when I load a file "model.png" it'd save the preview image as "model_preview.png").
