A quick edit, you should focus on making the feathers more feather-like, as they would have a elongated shape; Also give a sense of texture to the wings instead of having the curved shape confine the feathers. The other thing is, if the wings protect the statue, then the part that would be the closest to the viewer (hence benefit from more lighting) would be the ends of the wings.
