The Great Defender of Texel Sprite Rip!
#1
Exclamation
Hey everyone,

so I'm a total n00b at sprite ripping, and that's why I'm here to ask for your help! Defender of Texel is a mobile game available on Apple Products as well as Android smartphones/tablets. The game is free (although you can make in-game purchases, but that's another story). Anywho, the game has awesome 8-bit/16-bit characters which make up like 80%+ of all the graphics.

There are tons and tons of fighters in the game, so naturally, there are gonna be a lot of sprites to rip. Since there are so many to rip, I won't ask anyone to rip all of them (especially since new fighters are being added like every week) but I do want a few certain fighters to be ripped, or more importantly, someone to teach me a quick, easy, yet efficient way to rip sprites from the game.

Any help at all is appreciated, thanks in advance!
I'm awesome.

I downloaded the suspiciously small APK, and it doesn't look good. Can't find anything that might be character sprites. Since it's an online multiplayer game, I'd guess that most graphical resources are found online and either 1) used directly from the server during gameplay, or 2) downloaded to your device when you run the game. If it were the latter, you may be able to rip them from your device, but you'd probably have to "root" (or "jailbreak", for iOS) it.

Alternatively you can also just hard rip (take screenshots, and remove the backgrounds), but since this is both an Android/iOS game (you probably can't remove layers), and an MMO (it may be difficult to capture specific sprites), it would be pretty tedious and bothersome.
You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down. -Mary Pickford
