Since the above post I've been listening to remixes:

Also, Beverly Hills Cop was on TV today, and although I didn't watch it (wasn't from the start) I totally got a massive blast of nostalgia from the original Axel F. None of that Crazy Frog abomination.

Dubmood is a good chiptune composer, plus he makes quite a few references to old games/videogame music composers like Ben Daglish, along with his unconditional love of the Atari ST.
I recommend some of his Mighty Pirate Sessions. Awesome!
