RE: 'Pokemon World' - Neslug - 07-18-2009 10:31 PM
I don't get it. Why are you claiming they're all 100% custom?
RE: 'Pokemon World' - King_Ooga_TonTon - 07-18-2009 10:44 PM
Just because they look like the D/P sprites doesn't mean he edited them. As long as you build the sprite from scratch it's custom.
RE: 'Pokemon World' - darkblur123 - 07-18-2009 10:59 PM
he's not going to make them really different is he? that would be pointless
RE: 'Pokemon World' - Wes - 07-18-2009 11:15 PM
I noticed a logn time ago that Steelix's head and the older version of Onix's head were proabbly edited. But most of the bodies of the Pokemon seem original. Grimer looks like it has one hand and one eye directly copied. The rest looks custom. Same with Delibird's copied face and custom everything else. Some that you pointed out don't look edited at all (Leafeon, Croagunk, Drifloon, Shaymin, and others)
RE: 'Pokemon World' - JoshR691 - 07-19-2009 02:07 AM
@ Neslug: These are all custom, I didn't resize them, I didn't edit them, I only tried to make them look like the D/P/Pl. Sprites by making the linearts similar(Following them to get similar shapes, but at the same time trying to make them look different, yet official, but I guess I failed at the Different part), but I still made them from scratch...The only thing not made by me are the colors
I want to address the Pokemon you mentioned:
Golbat, Mewtwo, Lapras, Ampharos, Celebi, Spiritomb, Croagunk, Togekiss, Magnezone - Stated above, but I'll restate it: I follow the linearts to make them similar, yet different, while still looking official, but I guess I failed at the different part...These are going to be remade, as they need a makeover (No longer look 'good' or 'Official' and/or don't fit into their 'size')and won't get the '100%' taken off, as they're going to be replaced anyway
Wooper, Yanma, Espeon, Shuppet, Shinx, Banette, Shieldon, Duskull, Luvdisc, Buneary, Chatot, Skorupi, Phione, Shaymin, Darkrai, Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie, Glaceon - same as the first group, only won't be remade(or if they will be, not for a while) The '100%' Will be left on for some of these, others will get that cut off (Only saying that some will be left on because some of those barely followed the Lineart, while others, like the 'Pixie Trio' will get it off, due to following the linearts too closely).
Grimer - I'll admit, I redid the eyes pixel for Pixel, but I Made everything else the same way I've been doing. I'll take the '100%' off.
Onix, Steelix - I made the bodies by myself, but I guess I followed the heads linearts a little too closely, while making them longer and wider. I'll take the '100%' off.
Gallade, Rotom + Forms - For the most part, Doesn't follow the linearts. '100%' Stays.
Leafeon, Drifloon - Again, I didn't edit or resize any sprite, I did the same thing as in the first section of this post. Drifloon wasn't shrunk, he's basically a circle with a cloud on top. I really only followed the shading for Drifloon. Leafeon is edited from my Umbreon, with a head and tail made the same way as I said earlier in the post (and repeated again in the first section)
The 'Custom' will be left on all of them, as that is true, but the 100% will be taken off of those I mentioned(Minus the first group, since they're going to be replaced anyway)
Oh, and, so this doesn't happen again, I'll use the Artwork as my main references from now on, since the sprites can be off from what they're actually supposed to look like, but I'll still use the Sprite's colors
RE: 'Pokemon World' - Neslug - 07-19-2009 10:02 AM
I understand that you followed the linework in the official sprites, but maybe you also used them as a reference a bit too much. Because some look and are posed so similarly, I was mistaken. It's mainly the posing really. My apologies for sounding rude. I do like the animations you've given the Pokémon, just the "base sprites" looked a little too similar for my tastes.
RE: 'Pokemon World' - JoshR691 - 07-19-2009 07:16 PM
yeah, that's my fault though, but at least a lot of them are kind of older, and need to be remade...I do see what you're saying, and I'm definitley going to work on that, but some of them will probably come out with a similar base pose, either unintentionally, or because it turns out to be the 'Battle Revolution' Idle stance (Which is what this project is mostly based off of)
Oh, and don't worry about sounding a little rude, I probably wouldn't have noticed how close I was following the lines, and how close the posing actually is, if you didn't say anything, so it's fine

RE: 'Pokemon World' - JoshR691 - 07-20-2009 12:48 AM
Um a couple of things...This is my topic (and one-man Project), please make your own if you want to submit, and the images aren't showing up
Also, I know it's Spiritomb's Shiny Version, but I'm pretty sure it won't get accepted because it's just a recolor
RE: 'Pokemon World' - metaknightman - 07-20-2009 07:57 PM
this is so cool!! someone should accept it!
RE: 'Pokemon World' - Glitch - 07-23-2009 01:09 AM
hey i wanted to ask before i went along and did this, but i was going to add an attack or two to your phanpy sheet. can i please?
RE: 'Pokemon World' - JoshR691 - 07-23-2009 01:57 AM
Go right ahead, just make sure you give me credit for using the base...And just for future reference, if you have a question like 'can I use/Edit/Add on to this sheet?' just PM me, in Most cases, I'll allow it...as long as I'm credited in one way or another
Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I've been busy working on other Projects
But I'll at least tell ya what sheet I'm currently working, and a lot of you will be happy...
Blastoise is almost done, then I'm probably going to make Venusaur
RE: 'Pokemon World' - Glitch - 07-23-2009 01:59 AM
k, thanks. just wanted to make sure.
RE: 'Pokemon World' - JoshR691 - 07-24-2009 11:56 PM
Blastoise is finished:
I'll get around to fixing those Credit tags on the ones Neslug pointed out
Oh, and I updated the chart too:

That looks awesome. Great job! I hope Venusaur's that good!
