The big update's coming August 5th.

I love the new item shown 20 seconds in. Literally a bucket of paint.

I can't imagine that'd be very powerful. Like okay yeah, I can see it one-shotting someone easily and countering rollers, but I don't see how it'd be practical on an enemy team carrying...guns

I dunno

If "impressive range" is anything to go by, it'd probably stand a decent chance against shooter weapons. Being able to splat opponents hiding behind walls or above you sounds like another plus.

Then again, there's also the sub-weapons.

What the fuck is this shit!?
I can rage quit by turning off the game mid-match and not get a penalty for it. Meanwhile, I got an unstable connection message, the game saves and I'm a rank down. I fucking hate the Ranking system so fucking bad!
I want to play Splat Zones, I want to play Tower Control, I want to play Rainmaker, but get that Rank shit out of my face. It's just a frustration factor.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who wishes for Regular Battle versions of the non-Turf War game styles.

Likewise. Losing is one thing, but it's that slap on the wrist, the penalty on my ranking, that gets me agitated. The VR system of Mario Kart 8 is way better.

Well, there's always private lobbies, the other long-awaited feature of Splatoon, that allows you to choose the map and game mode...?

I only have 1 friend that plays Splatoon and I don't know what his schedule is.
I want quick matches with random people without being neutered for being poorly matched. (I'm supposed to win, it's playground law)
I do have to say I like Rainmaker Mode. It's a mode I'm actually decent at. I managed to land some nice touchdowns too. I do hate it when I have a plan and need that Rainmaker, some boob grabs the thing and marches straight into enemy fire. Of course, I met a fair share of people who carry the thing simply for the sake of scoring kills and some that carry it back, giving the enemy a head start when they inevitably get their ass handed to them.

The next NA splatfest is Autobots VS Decepticons.

I don't know transformers.

I'm assuming the Good Guys will win popularity?

Guess again. Decepticons for life!

Oh Babey the Splatoon OST is coming out in the fall, and it's called "Splatune"

I CAN MAKE IT INTO A SQUID SISTERS CD

That's just lame, heh.

It's nice to see games are still doing OST releases.  To be honest, I miss the days where it was common to have a sound test in the game (unlockable or otherwise), where you could listen to any track in the game on your own whim.  I know the Puyo Puyo series still does this, at least.

So does Splatoon, sorta...?

There's a rhythm minigame that lets you choose any song you want in the game and then you can play it. Or...not. You can just sit there and listen to the music instead.

You'll need an Inkling Squid amiibo though.

Turns out the leaks were real:
http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/08/splatoon_data_mining_brings_more_weapons_a_new_stage_and_even_playable_octolings

Hammerhead Bridge and Mini Splatling were already released, so the rest including the playable Octoling class seems to be pretty much confirmed.

Also this:

Octoling amiibo =D

Aaaaaaand...
Quote:In addition, the leak states that Splatoon may be getting new amiibo figures for an Octoling, as well as figures for Callie and Marie (this has been confirmed as speculation based on data found in the game’s data).
