People need to get new hobbies because with how disappointed I've been with how Smash 4 is being handled I can't take anymore heartbreaking fake leaks.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Jermungandr - 08-05-2015

That Dr. Mario stage was pretty obviously a fake from the beginning, it had a LOT of glaring problems. It only seemed convincing to people because it used assets actually found within the game updates that haven't been put to use yet.

That said, the assets for a Dr. Mario stage DO still exist within the game data, so we're still pretty much guaranteed to be getting one, and it will be way better than this crappy mock-up, so there's not really any reason to be disappointed here.

I'm ... not really sure why they think it's worth doing a lengthy interview with these guys though. Do they actually think people want to read about them bragging about how great they are for pulling off this lame prank?

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Keychain - 08-06-2015

It being in the files doesn't necessarily mean we'll get it. I'm sure we will, but it's not 100% set in stone.

Well nothing is a hundred percent until it's been confirmed by an official source.

Weird is that the vote is still opened.

Y'all remember how that trailer for the "Melee Remastered 2.0" pack for Project M was shown off here a bit ago? (If not, here's a link as a refresher.) A common complaint was that many of the skins looked too "flat", but that was addressed recently with the 2.1 pack released recently:

Personally, although some of the skins still look a touch wonky, I think these "shiny" details alone really elevate the quality of the skins (especially Bowser and Yoshi, holy crap). What do you all think?

Sorry for the double post, but the full version of Project M 3.6 got a silent release today!

I'm most excited about the Wario Land stage (a visual overhaul of Competitive WarioWare that takes place in Wario's throne room) and the new announcer; I really did not like the 3.6 Beta announcer. I'd post pics/videos, but I'm on mobile at the moment.

i tried the record replay feature today, so I decided to show off the best spike I ever pulled off.

I've been having way too much fun playing against Little Macs.

Just a few 1V1 matches that I played, After awhile I started figuring out how to stand some chance against a few players I've played who use little mac so I'm going to try to see if I can fight more of them. Part of this is because ever so often I find a person who turns to little mac whenever they keep on losing, and that kind of gets old to a point where I just decided to train on a bunch of them.

And here's one good Smash Match that I had playing as Roy:

Showing this just for the sudden death.

Shovel Knight might be playable in smash bros.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - DioShiba - 08-26-2015

Honestly, as far as shovel knight goes I'm gonna be somewhat disappointed that we're probably not getting Quote from Cave Story in smash bros any time soon.

Quote would have been a fantastic rep for indie games in general.

Don't get me wrong though, I'd be glad if independent games got represented in some way on smash bros. Shovel Knight might be the best option because everyone knows the series (and I'm starting to be tempted into getting the game, honestly)

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Jermungandr - 08-26-2015

If they're going to include indie reps I think Quote still has a decent shot (ha, shot). I imagine they would want to include one Japanese and one Western rep, which means Quote could make a decent candidate for the Japanese one.

Though honestly, as much as I loved the Shovel Knight game, I don't feel like he's that strong of a unique candidate for a player slot. He's basically another swordsman type character, only his sword is a shovel. I know she doesn't presently have the same starpower, but I feel like Shantae makes a much better indie candidate simply because she would be wholly unique from any other character already present in the game.

I bet this is all a moot point anyways. Odds are if we get anything at all it's just going to be a Shovel Knight costume for the swordfighter Mii.
