He's coming.

Faaaaake, why do they only have a single profile shot of that Sakurai? They should stop hanging around the character select and go in game already. It's pretty obvious he's also a Little Mac edit

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say sometime within the next two or three weeks it'll be released. Maybe sooner.

Guys Takamaru was considered during smash 4's development to be playable

http://nintendoeverything.com/takamaru-was-considered-as-a-playable-fighter-for-smash-bros-wii-u3ds/

hopefully he'll be in smash 5

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|The SaltySuite Resource - DioShiba - 03-22-2015

I'd rather see Takumaru get a new game before that happens.

I mean come on, I know nintendo has been pushing mystery of murasame castle onto the retro gaming market, but at least try to make an effort to make him relevant to modern gaming before that happens.

And honestly if they intend to bring back Ice Climbers they may as well let Sakurai make a new game for that as well before they do that too, given that he was the only person to really care about them since the original NES game.

I Can See It Now

Ice Climbers for late 2016, with the emergence of new franchise rivals "Dark Popo and Nana" who will probably be playable in Smash Bros. for Nintendo NX

kirby x ice climbers 3ds game. its a great opportunity to bring back kirby's freeze-ability from kirby's adventure and expand upon that powerup to make it more "ice climber-y." nana and popo can be stylized hammer-ability clones, sorta like how dedede was a stylized clone. hell, i can see nana and popo being a part of the kirby universe anyways.

i think its the eyes

This, or make a new ice climbers game that's more closer to how Kirby's 2d games work but stray far enough to make it so that you can play as both ice climbers.

Either way I still beleive Sakurai could pull it off.

While Sakurai at it he can make Popo, Popotoo, Nana, and Nanatoo have a needlessley long conversation while they're fighting over eggplants or smashing seals and bears.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|The SaltySuite Resource - Gors - 03-23-2015

A new Ice Climbers game should be a puzzle platformer where you control both characters to beat levels. Each world is one mountain, and each mountain has several stages, each one going higher in height.

First levels have vegetation and rocks, as well as animals. Middle levels get rockier terrain and goat as enemies. Top levels are snowy with condors, seals, yetis and polar bears (to match the original NES game).

Before starting the game you choose your main Ice Climber (you can choose between Popo and Nana). In the levels, you will control your main climber while the other will follow you SSB-style. While the other climber follows you, your hammer attacks get stronger and you can do the tether jump to reach higher places.

You can also leave the secondary climber in a definite spot (i.e over a switch) to activate traps and help solving puzzles.

By pressing "select" you can switch the active climber to another one so both can advance coordinately. Of course 2P co-op is also possible.

You get bonus points if you pick all vegetables and reach the end.

falling into holes will instantly kill the climber; this may break the level, requiring a redo. However you can also beat a level with only one climber remaining if that's the case. Levels beaten with one climber lost will be marked in the world map so you can attempt it again without losing any climbers.

Make this happen.

Damn Gors, Nintendo aught to hire you, that's absolutely PERFECK. I could see myself and friends playing the shit out of a game like that.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|The SaltySuite Resource - TomGuycott - 03-23-2015

What I think Ice Climbers needs is a downloadable, cross-platform game for New 3ds and Wii U. Have a 2p co-op mode, but also a 1p mode where a player controls one climber with each stick and two triggers for jumps and attacks.

Edit: Gors ninja'd me because I'm on a phone.

Then revive Wrecking Crew with giant 3D environments, but make it star Wario and Waluigi.

Then make a new F-zero and Murasame game, and then there STILL won't be room for any new characters in Smash from these series.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|The SaltySuite Resource - MrYoshbert - 03-23-2015

...and fix those controls while you're at it. The original Ice Climbers was nigh-unplayable with those physics.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|The SaltySuite Resource - Kriven - 03-23-2015

Am I the only one that views the Condor as a singular character, a nefarious villain who stole the vegetables from Nana and Popo's village?

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|The SaltySuite Resource - Cyberguy64 - 03-23-2015

I like that interpretation. Would that make the Polar Bear his partner in crime?
