I'd say those guys are far more exciting than Rosalina, Greninja, Shulk, Wii Fit Trainer, and Duck Hunt.

Sure you could argue "They turned out to be such fun fighters" but so could anyone! K. Rool could have been just as fun as Duck Hunt. Except K. Rool has one advantage over Duck Hunt... he's freaking King K. Rool! He's someone people love! And that's kind of the point.

What's wrong with Greninja?

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Gwen - 12-02-2014

What's wrong with any of the characters he listed?
He's just being cranky.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Shade - 12-02-2014

They don't really stick out as much.

Sakurai specifically stated that the 3DS couldn't handle 4 sets of IceClimbers, and so the Wii U had to keep the roster consistent with the inferior portable version. It wasn't for your reason at all.

And K.Rool, Dixie, Isaac and Ridley do? aside from a small rabid fan base for each, they're hardly as popular or as important as any of the 4 actually added in that list.

I was referring to the characters added in general, not necessarily the characters Koopaul mentioned. That's my bad, I should have elaborated in that sense. I would like to see Isaac, though.

I agree on Isaac, he would be cool to see!

Who exactly put you in charge of determining how big or worthwhile a fan base is again?

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - TomGuycott - 12-02-2014

Ice Climbers is the exception, confirmed to have been cut due to 3ds limitations, but also due to lack of popularity and time (Sakurai seemed to imply they could have been made to work if they had more time than they had).

My statement above was more in line with the other cuts: such as Roy, Pichu, Lucas and Wolf. That is more in line with standard fighting game roster changes.

Ice Climbers fits more with the situation Frank West had in vanilla MvC3, where they cut him because he slowed down online mode at the time, only to be added later.

Sad

yeah, because the wii u can handle 16 characters on screen while maintaining 60fps.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Iceman404 - 12-02-2014

We actually don't know this. It could be powerful enough to, it was never specified. Even then they could easily be cut from 8 player Smash and everyone would find it very reasonable, they chopped half the level roster similarly.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - TomGuycott - 12-02-2014

Well, no, not everyone would find that reasonable, because already there are people who find limiting 8 player to certain stages unreasonable. Not so much HERE, but they do exist.

That's not even te mentioned reason the Climbers were cut anyway, this is all hypothetical. The only confirmed reason was the 3ds version.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Zero Kirby - 12-02-2014

I wouldn't have been surprised if Eight-Player Smash was only possible after they were cut though.

Honestly it would have been kind of lame to have them in and then not be able to use them in Eight-Player Smash. That would have been much more annoying than just not having them, to me at least.

Classic Mode does a lot of multiplayer mayhem so they'd make it pretty much easy mode.

Also perfectly fine without K. Rool Dixie or Ridley

Isaac would've been neat but as far as Metroid reps go I'd honestly rather have even Anthony over Ridley

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Gwen - 12-02-2014

Ridley = nah

I get why people like Ridley, but I just don't get it.
As far as DK representatives, they just don't interest me enough even though the games are great. I'm just like "Who care?"
Isaac would have been cool, but people would have just bitched about another dude with a sword. Robin fills that hole just fine.
