I meant melee as in physical.

Sorry 3:

A attacks.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - NICKtendo DS - 11-21-2014

I hate Pac-Man's alt costumes. I'm fine with one based on his power-up from Pac-Land or something, but I wanted a full red Pac-Man so I could be Murphy from Supaplex damnit!
...
Oh, I think the clones and alt costumes in the new Smash make sense just the way they are. Dark Pit and Lucina are questionable, but whatever, they probably have fans. I'm bitter about the lack of new F-Zero characters, proper Metroid characters, etc. But Mewtwo is coming! I have to wait a while, but he's coming and I'm stoked, so I don't really care. For me Mewtwo just makes me forgive the lack of certain characters.
KLONE TIEM: Dixie Kong could've easily been a Diddy Kong clone. Maker her a little slower and easier to launch in exchange for better jumping (hair-copter). Make her lift crates with her hair, so she walks easier when carrying them. Swap a few attacks with hair whips and presto, another waste of a character slot no one will stop bitching about.
Also, Other M Ridley is ugly. Swap Charizard's model with a Super Metroid Ridley one, change a single attack (or stat even) and presto, another waste of a slot that no one will bitch about except Sakurai, because he had to shrink precious Ridley.

My copy is waiting for me at home. I'm so freaking excited.

Gonna maybe try some online too. We should try and arrange a VGR tourney sometime, probably after that tournament system is up and running.

Here's hoping the Wii U version has a good, stable online feature, unlike the 3DS version.

Why isn't Black Bull a clone of Captain Falcon?
Why don't we have Kamek or Poochie in as a Yoshi representation?
Why doesn't Jeff become a playable character with his own move set based off the items he uses in earthbound?

There's a lot of games that deserve reps don't get me wrong, it'd be awesome but honestly I wouldn't want too many fighters in a Smash game compared to having characters that were rushed just because the fans want them.

If Sakurai ends up choosing to make DLC available in the future, it's a possibility but if I'm going to be real about it this isn't gonna happen for quite awhile or not at all given that he said he's not currently planning on DLC, Mewtwo aside.

Man, I was reeeally riding on that one leak to be true just for Chorus Kids, Bandanna Dee, and Dixie Kong. I have a thing for off-the-wall characters like those guys, and I feel that they would've given the roster a tad more diversity among a sea of stupid anime-lookin' characters. Ah, well.

I've still got Pac, Mac, Mega Man, the Duck Hunt gang, and Iggy friggin' Koopa at my disposal, so some of my wishes have been granted. Might as well try to enjoy the game for what it is with the few dream characters who managed to get in, instead of getting all salty about a few characters who didn't make the cut.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Gwen - 11-21-2014

I managed to get this today through some acquired funds ^u^

I still feel that there's a rich diversity of non-anime characters even in the final roster. Really, the only anime ones I can think of are Marth, Ike, Robin, Lucina, Shulk, Pit, Dark Pit, and Palutena. That's only eight.

Plus, I'd take "stupid anime-lookin' characters" over the Chorus Kids any day of the week. Those things are ugly as hell.

Soooo ... apparently you can't just copy over customization stuff you earned in Smash 3DS to the Wii U version like we were told at E3.

You can copy over characters wearing any equips and powers you want, but it doesn't add that stuff to your collections for your own free use. You have to unlock it all within the Wii U version to use it. AGAIN.

Considering how much time I invested into collecting everything in the 3DS version, this is kind of bullshit.

Oh, and you can't copy over Mii appearances. When you copy a Mii character the only thing it brings over is the equipment and special moves, but it just gives the copied character the Generic Mii appearance, with no costume or hat either.

After all they promised, this is what the 3DS to Wii U connectivity really does?

That's very disappointing, to say the least. Sad

Could just be day one problem guys..

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Jermungandr - 11-21-2014

It's not a bug though. It's literally designed to be this way.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - MrYoshbert - 11-21-2014

On the topic of customization, the game doesn't save the button setup you used last between each match. It resets to the default "Player 1" configuration every time you start a new game in another mode, and it gets bothersome to keep choosing your preferred setup (most likely your most comfortable method of playing Smash) over and over again.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - TomGuycott - 11-22-2014

Oh man, I'm having so much fun with this game. I got to play against Crappy online a bit, and after completely sucking and whiffing the first couple of matches, I started doing well in a high-damage scenario that was tilted grossly in my favor.

Then Crappy got to see my incredible choking skills and beat me when I had a five stock lead. I:

I must fight all of you Very Sad

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Shade - 11-22-2014

Getting the game tomorrow, I hope you all don't stop playing by then!! Very Sad Very Sad
