i kinda wish they hadn't gone with the smash bros. render poses for amiibo. it means the more complicated and/or not-grounded poses need support and just look really awkward. i mean, come on:

it would've been easier and probably looked better in the long run if they were just in generic symmetrical standing poses.

It was COMPLETELY unnecessary to bring the Starfox 64 VA's back. I cringed so hard my internal organs touched each other.

Yeah, that decision was a mistake. Falco isn't terrible though.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Ark Kuvis - 11-11-2014

to be fair, only Fox's and Slippy's 64 Actors were able to return for Star Fox 64 3D. No idea if they reprised their roles for Smash 4, but the voice actors from the latest game kinda makes sense, doesn't it?

Note that I'm one of the few people who think Fox's Smash 4 Voice actor isn't garbage so I mean what the hell do I know anyway.

(really rotted that Wolf didn't return though, imagine how awesome it'd be having "Playtime is Over" Wolf O'Donnel in Smash 4.)

Well I mean, the Star Fox 64 actors are the iconic ones, so it makes sense on paper to bring them back. People love SF64.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Crappy Blue Luigi - 11-11-2014

jeeeeez, fox and falco's voice actors in brawl were significantly better actors. this really is cringeworthy.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Koopaul - 11-11-2014

I think the charm in Star Fox 64's voice acting was a happy accident that could never be recreated.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Darky's Manifestation - 11-11-2014

some of the figure stands just look really... unnecessary present. i hope the keep the stands transparent like they seem to be for wave three.

really excited for this little though ball

And I'll be the other 49.

In all serious though, I have a Bowser figure I got out of a gatcha ball that looks better than that.

Good news everybody amiibos aren't region locked so you can use a any amiibo on any regions console

I actually think the Fox Crew did a pretty good job on that stage. I certainly got a "this is so cool" kind of feel from it.

Actually I think that's Assault's VA team. Nerd Falco sounds pretty spot on and that's it (unless you're talking about SF 64 3D)
But they sound awful, yeah - it sounds like Nintendo asked them to impersonate the Starfox 64 cast but they're all awful at it.

At the very least, they could have downsampled the audio to make it sound like they were all speaking over shitty Arwing radio transmission (and hide the fact that Fox is holding his nose the entire time)

That's because they were actual, hired voice actors from a ton of anime and stuff, and not Nintendo trying to squeeze out every dollar ):

Top Reasons You Should Import Foreign Amiibo Today:

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Omega - 11-12-2014

Apparently the Shulk amiibo will be Gamestop/EBgames exclusive.

You don't need the Monado to see that one coming.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - Helmo - 11-12-2014

The talking animations bother me too, those 2-3 frame animations look good for the puppet like figures in 64 but here it's.... ugh.

RE: SUPER SM4SH BROS: WII U (Spoilers Warning) - TomGuycott - 11-12-2014

I used the footage to convert my friend to liking Star Fox Assault. Of course showing her the terrible artwork from Star Fox Command also played a part in that.

Assault, in my opinion, is the finest example of a modernized Star Fox game. I like 64 better, but it also feels dated. Assault, in my opinion, was a direction the series could have benefitted continuing from.

That also makes the terrible smash dialogue even worse, because the VAs are trying to imitate 64 voice overs on an Assault based stage, but Fox's design is from Command. It's just fumbling all over itself.
