Rune Factory: Frontier Model Viewer? (.MOD) - Roxasguy - 09-10-2013

Hello, I was wondering if there are any programs capable of opening a .MOD file? Specifically one from Rune Factory: Frontier for the Wii? There prolly isn't one but it never hurts to ask. Otherwise, could someone point me in the right direction on how to begin a model viewer of my own? Thanks!

Sorry, I couldn't find one in the usual places (fan forums, XeNTaX, etc.) However, there may be a model viewer for any of Neverland's other games which could also work for this one.
There is no easy way of beginnning to create a model viewer. Advanced knowledge of C/C+/C++ is required, then some adequate knowledge of the model format.
As there isn't any knowledge on the internet, you will have to systematically hack the model and note the different outcomes. Eventually you will have an understanding of the model's properties (polygons, UVs, bones, warps.) Then you have to use that information to create a program capable of interpreting a model file based on that information.
...
Or perhaps the model format is simpler than that, and can be converted into a more common wii model format such as MDL0 or BMD. Who knows, maybe making a request on XeNTaX for someone to look at the model format would be easier.

Thanks! I'll look around for some Neverland viewers!

I would post on XeNTax but I don't have an account...
