Pokemon TCG Online - Xtreme1992 - 09-19-2012

hello
this is my first request so if I do something wrong, i am sorry... ^^
i am a fan of the pokemon tcg since years and now there is an official online version!
you can find it here --> http://www.pokemontcg.com/
i played it and its a very nice game and so i thought why not rip the cards... ^^
but unfortunately i can just rip nintendo ds stuff and i never tried to rip from pc games...
i looked into the folder of the game and i think i have found the place where the cards are but the extension of the file is ".unity3d"
i dont know how to open it or if it is even possible to open files with this extension so i thought i should ask you guys...
can you help me rip the files pls?
or if you are busy could you show me how i can rip them?
hope someone decides to help because its very important for me... =)

This question appeared to have some fruitful answers. Apparently you can't open and edit them as such, but you can view them, which may allow you makes screenshots and then put them in a sheet.
The 2nd answer has a link to a web application to open them (which requires Unity Web Player), while the 3rd has a downloadable application. I'd recommend giving these a go and see if they can open your files.

I would give test them myself but I don't play the game. However since it looks free (to download in any case), I might be able to help if you happen to have any issues.

thx for the answer! Smile
hmm so you can only view them...
ahh well better then nothing! ^^
i tried the downloadable application and it looks like it dont recognize the files as ".utility3D" files... Sad
and by the 2nd answer i dont know how i should upload the files there...
it looks like you have to enter an url but i have the files on my pc...
ahh and yes the game is free to download & play...
you can buy booster packs but only if you want... ^^
but it looks like without buying booster packs its almost impossible to obtain all cards so i need to extract the cards from these .unity3D files to get all cards with their correct size... Cry

Well, I'll download it later on and take a look, 175MB isn't too much. It's possible that they're simply not Unity3D files, but I seriously can't think why the extension would be that long and specific if they aren't.

I tried extracting the resources.assets file, but not really getting anything of use. The files are a different format to TWEWY iOS, but not only that I can't seem to find the card images or avatar images.

is this resources.assets file which you need to extract to see the .unity3d files saved at --> (installed folder)\Pokemon Trading Card Game Online_Data\bundles\cardImages ?
with its almost 100mb the .assets file really looks suspicious but why did they made a folder where they put the images then?
sry if i bother you guys...
i am a noob with such things and the best way to learn is to ask right? Smile

Well I downloaded, and I see what you mean. Yeah I have no idea what to do with the .unity3d files, they seem to be different than typical .unity3d files.
I also think there's no way to open .assets files. In short I don't think it's possible to rip sprites from this game, at least not directly.

Thanks for introducing me to it though! I had to register to download the program, so I might give it a go and see if it takes my fancy Wink

ahh thats sad... Sad
then i have to use pokemon card scans with lower graphics...
i have found already some but i cant find booster pack scans...
maybe someone knows a site where booster pack and deck scans are shown without watermarks? ^^
