Several of the games I already ripped:

Day of the Idea (Unique inventory system, you can use ANYTHING as a weapon, also you can see the armor differences in the equip screen, For example, if you equip a hat or helmet, there will be an actual sprite for the hat/helmet after equipping it. It also includes a Freddy Kruger knockoff, which looks like a cross between a Baku (Dream Eater) and a tiger and other various references seen in other media)

Maka Maka (Unique Art style: Only considered Kusoge due to the buggy programming since it was released in the prototype stage) Commercial

Both games characters and enemies were designed by the same artist.

Or when it doubt, watch Game Center CX. They play some strange yet interesting games, sometimes ones we know, other times ones we barely know.

I've been rather busy lately but just managed to squeeze this one in:

City Connection (Arcade)

More famous for the NES version than the arcade and probably one of the most famous Jaleco games along with the Astanyax and Rival Turf, it is quirky enough since there aren't many platforming games where you control a car. Well... actually a woman driver driving around the world dropping paint, firing oil cans at the police and oh avoiding cats. Strangely enough it managed to get a clone on the Amiga called Car-Vup done by Core Design of all people (Chuck Rock, Tomb Raider).

When I first played this game, I kept saying eh? since this game is really quirky. Sure the storyline is the typical girlfriend being kidnapped by a stranger and you have to save her but the entire game doesn't make sense especially with the developer logo popping up randomly and the credits listing characters that aren't even in the game. It is pretty much Japanese culture the game ranging from Godzilla, Japanese baseball players, them things from Super Mario Land, ninjas, Kamen Rider, Saki from Sukeban Deka II as a boss and other things but there's also a lot of manga/anime stuff in this game that somehow they got away with it. From what I can see there's Jigen from Lupin the 3rd, Tensai Bakabon, the bikers are from Zenderman, Joe from Tomorrow's Joe, Kenshiro, a boss that fires Astro Boy, some robots and Lum, the girlfriend looks sort of like someone from Project A-ko, references to Maison Ikkoku in the first stage, even the playable character looks like an anime character. Oh and there's Rambo and Jason as well. Sadly I think it is a kusoge since it doesn't play well at all plus the tiles were all over the place...

ACKA-PUNCH!!!

Jungle no Ouja Tarzan, starring a guy who reads porn and licks his armpits to get his health back. You're also fighting tanks with your fists and randomly forming a human ball to roll through spikes.

First rip from the game, the rest will follow. 5 stages with only two types of enemies per stage, should be no big deal to get them all.

Seems like you have to wait a little bit longer for Tarzan's fantastic flying nutsack, because he has sprites and sprites and sprites =o

RE: Delightfulness of the Strange - Quirky Games Project - Ton - 09-08-2012

Reminds me of Genesis Pocahontas. She has about a million sprites.
