Gave Mario a NSMB looking run, doublejump, new tannomba, and a crapload of tiles and objects.
Im also gonna try a koopa tonight. ;)

excellent backgrounds, and i'm a fan of small sprites, so i love those too
and have fun finding a good GM platform engine. you may want to pair up with someone who knows platform games. i've seen a couple of engines, but they're extremely complex and dificult to use.

i think the head on the koopa needs to be moved a few pixels to the right
(1 or 2)
