For those of you who are wondering what happened to us and our project: it's still going strong. Thing is, I no longer can post newer materials on this thread as we're late in the alpha testing stages of the game having already several alpha builds on our site.

As an example of how the game is coming along. This is from the latest build so far and it displaysquite a lot, huh? I'll be showing screen captures, preview sprites (not full sheets), and keeping you up to date on how it's going.
The game itself won't be finished for a few years, but demos will be available when we feel we are comfortable to release them to the public.

Looks like it will be a very interesting game, I'd love to try it once a demo is out, looks cool and old school styled.

Wow, looks great, and I'm glad to see this is still going strong!

Here's a mockup screen of the interior of the church building in the Kingdom of Eolis.

The final version will have light coming from the windows, a glow around the candle, and the ribbon taestry will be somewhat transparent.

Wow, that looks awesome, you caught the feel from the original Faxanadu and remade it into something spectaculair! This looks so amazing!

A new mock up and, with the release of another alpha test build, a new ingame screen also!

This is in game. The light shifts due to perspective.

And a music track sampling from the game:

The graphics is so damn awesome! Big Grin
But don't forget, the salesman should blink his eyes repeteadly when he talks, they did that in Faxanadu. I always found that hilarious. XD

New alpha build was put up, so likewise a screen or two is bound to show up....

there they are!

I had to take three shots to show the update. The room itself won't be in the final version as it's pretty bare and has no background layers. Also, the towers will be taken down a tile as the bottom tiles are a platform. :p The ledges around the towers' zenith are placeholder ledges.

What else is new? Room teleportation and the ability to drop through ledges!

Also, the buildings and other things will be better detailed upon completion.
