Smile About time I updated.

These are two of the elementals from IronSword. You don't fight them in these forms of theirs, but you will when you encounter them within their personal chambers, albeit with they under a different form.

This is all so awesome! Just seeing all of these interesting characters to be in one game makes my eyes tear.

And Porky was a pleasent surprice! Smithy, your the greatest spriter ever! ^__^

Speaking of which, if one of the worlds is supposed to be Punch-Out... does that mean that... there will be the infamous EggplantWizard and KingHippo Duo? In that case, my dream has come true! ^___^

Speaking of which (sorry for double-posting)

I'll run it by our composer and see what he thinks of it. Smile

Anyway, yes, King Hippo and Eggplant Wizard both show up n the Punch-Out world (Tyson City).

Hahaha, Tyson City. Funny cameo. Speaking of which, will it be like KH's Olympus-Coliseum world?

Then I can guess who the last opponent is. Smile

Sorry for double-posting, but is this topic still alive?

RE: The Loving Couple's 8bit Action/RPG - SmithyGCN - 10-29-2008

It is. It just takes a while to do something depending on how busy our lives are at the moment. I assure you this topic isn't dead. I'm currently working on Malkil so don't fret. His battle sprites should be about 92% finished by this time.

The promised sheet. Malkil after going through several redesigns.

Still has another sheet in the works for cut scene related sprites.

RE: The Loving Couple's 8bit Action/RPG - Ton - 10-30-2008

Much better than the old one.

RE: The Loving Couple's 8bit Action/RPG - rukifellth - 10-30-2008

Well I checked out on Youtube about all the fights against Malkil in all the games.

In the first one, he just teleports randomly, and fires a semi-homing magic bullet (that looks like 3 rotating orbs)

In the second game, it was'nt really Malkil, just his Elements fighting, flying around insanely, firing bullets at you. Insanely difficuly. But when defeated, Malkil emerged from them, and... died...

In the third game, he asked the player if he/she wanted to join him. If no, he'd attack by flying around the screen, firing rapid-fire magical bullets (that looked like flowers), and at low health, he'd swoop down at you, firing bounsing bullets as he pass...

EDIT: Ah, forgot to mention. He was in a Gameboy game aswell, in this game, he'd emerge from either the upper part or lower part of the screen, firing lightning bolts straight at you like bullets...

Maiby this could be of some help. Smile

I am aware. :p *has played all of them at some point*
But thanks for the info.

His appearance is a nod to the third and gameboy games.

RE: The Loving Couple's 8bit Action/RPG - rukifellth - 10-31-2008

I figured that when I saw him on youtube. But I guess the colours are based on his appearence in the first game, ya?

EDIT:

Okey, maiby this comes as a surprice, but I've actually sprited for this RPG too. Smile

I sprited a character from an obscure RPG called Tomato Adventure, that was made by AlphaDreams, before they made Mario&Luigi: SuperstarSaga. Infact, the engine used in this game, was reused in Mario & Luigi.

Anyways, this little guy is Demille, an inhabitant of the Ketchup Kingdom (Hmmm, Mushroom Kingdom, Bean Kingdom...) and dispices tomatoes. Which has put him into excile. But when his girlfriend get's kidnapped by King Abira, The tomato King (who is 5 years old), he journeys out to save her from his clutshes, and stop his plan of turning all of Ketchup Kingdom, into Toys!

In his journey, he had to utulize "Gimmicks" for weapons, each weapon with different minigame mechanics to work. I've decided to use the ones that would work for an action/RPG so the arsenal is'nt to big...

What's interesting thoe is that the game was first planned for the GBC, but was later transferred to the GBA. Anyways, here he is DEMILLE the outcast among Nintendo stars!!!

Edit: Hello? Where is everybody?

You know, I actually like this. You're pretty good at the style already, so I'll use the sheet and give you proper credit in game for your hard work. Smile

RE: The Loving Couple's 8bit Action/RPG - rukifellth - 11-01-2008

Is that true? Big Grin
Thank you, thank you, that would be great!
Is there anything you'd like me to add or change about him?
