Well I was wrong.
But if we don't count my Sukapon animations that will not be used, Sukapon has 5 completed animations. The same as Ness Tongue

What if Porky was our one boss character for this game? Ness could be playable in his place.

Ness would be way easier to finish, and has more work done on him already. Porky has a bit of work done on him already, and if we're making a small game, we could have a 1 player mode be like the Classic Mode in the SSB games (fight all other characters, then some extras like Break the Targets). That way, we can use the sprites for Porky that are already made while also not having to do much more work on him (as a boss, he'd need only walking, getting hurt, dying, and a few attacks). If and when this game is finished and is popular enough to do more work on it, Porky could be one of the first ones we add.

Nix Samus or Link for Ness? Should we swap out Porky?

I'd say we swap out Porky for Ness. Pretty much, I might help by throwing ideas here and there, instead of doing spriting, because that seems not to be one of my strong points in the project at the moment (because as soon as I figure out the style it seems to change again).

Swap Porky for Ness? Aye or Nay?

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Wes - 08-25-2010

Yes, swap Porky for Ness. But then use Porky as the boss of Classic mode, since some work has already been done for him.

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Ton - 08-25-2010

Sounds good.

Well, if Porky is ggoing to be a boss, then we should use at least one more character that we could use for a boss that won't be playable yet, so i've been thinking, why not Bowser Jr. Because bowser would take longer to sprite, and it will also show that when (and if) we release the full game that we were planning on, it might help show we got more characters that weren't released in an official smash bros game, (like with Porky). But thats just me and what I feel.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. We're repeating the same cycle. Right now. It's happening.

Told you.

Offtopic discussion is inevitable without proper direction. Even if you lock every other topic, it will keep happening.

What's this talk of bosses and classic modes? We're not doing any of those yet. Just release something really simple and add stuff over time. Even if we release a demo of 4 characters I'd say that would be good.

What the-
Classic Mode? Porky as a boss? Goddamn Break the Targets?! That literally just goes against everything we've discussed. We're not an official company or anything, and don't have to have a perfect demo. Keep it simple! 8 Characters, 4 Stages!

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - D2S-Speed - 08-26-2010

^Agreed we don't need a classic mode right now, Just a simple demo so we can get a little progression done, and work little by little with other characters. Then hopefully we can get some more people to help work on this with us!

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Wes - 08-26-2010

I just thought a simple 1p mode where you battle all of the characters and then a boss would be a simple, easy thing to add to the demo to get people's attention. If it's too much for what you have in mind, then don't bother.

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Ton - 08-26-2010

Ok
Mario, Link, Pikachu, Ness, Samus
Sukapon, Little Mac, Gooey

Done. No more.

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - D2S-Speed - 08-26-2010

Much better, for right now! Big Grin
