it's mostly the colours that are a problem, they reaaaally lack contrast

They go as follows:

Mega Man, Mega Man Zero, Mega Man (general green)
Bass, Mega Man Exe, and I'm not sure what that one is...
Another alternate color could be Proto Man.

Unless the alternate colors are gonna be based upon Megaman's colors when using certain powers, I was thinking maybe Megaman could change into those colors while doing certain attacks.
For example, if Megaman were to use Fsmash (I seen something about Swordman earlier, so I'll use him as the basis of the attack), he could change colors into the colors from the game if he were to use Swordman's ability (if I recall, it was a sort of red and orange or something; correct me if I'm wrong Shy ), before or during the attack, then change back to his original colors before he returns to his natural stance.

It's just a bit of a fun, cosmetic thing I thought of, but I realized as I was typing this that there could conflicts in the color changing if Megaman were to use alternate customs. So I thought I'd just throw it out there in case there could be a way around that...

The sprite is shaped fine, Its just the pallet that sucks.

As for the moveset, I think his A moves should be based around the weapons.
(i.e, >A is a Firesword 3 slash combo) and his guard move just rotates through leaf shield, skull shield and the lot, just with the same effect.

As for alternate colors, I think he should have pallets representing different characters, like red/gray for Protoman, Black/yellow for Bass, and Red/White for Zero.

First of all Mega Man has SO many alternate power colors it would be very hard to decide which ones to use that's why I decided on other characters. Its also a nice wink to the fans of the other series.

But hey don't worry, there's an alternate costume for Mega Man which means SIX MORE COLORS!

Hey took the liberty of making the alternate costumes and well I don't think they came out they way I wanted them to...
