I'll work on the lazer next.

RE: R.O.B. - Ngamer01 - 07-31-2009

Looks more like colored bo staffs than lasers.

RE: R.O.B. - Koopaul - 07-31-2009

Yeah with energy stuff you need the lighter colors on the outside. And no darker outline.

I think this looks a little better.

RE: R.O.B. - Zabi - 08-02-2009

Hmm, the lasers don't have that much similarities to the ones in Brawl. Thin laser and thick laser have the same hue. The lasers themselves are white-ish and have a pink-ish glow. You also need the laser to angle up and down and make an effect, when the laser is not charged.
Also the animation of ROB needs work. There needs to be more movement. When it shoots the laser, not only its heads moves, but also its arms. The head needs to be angled up and down, as well.

I hope that helps you a bit.

RE: R.O.B. - Zoo Monkey - 08-28-2009

One question, are you using 100% custom sprites? Because you could get that good energy bubble thing that comes up when R.O.B. uses too much laser from effects in diamond/pearl attack effects. Ones like slash.

RE: R.O.B. - D2S-Speed - 12-28-2009

As Kirby would say "BEEP"
It's a WIP maybe I should've finished it, for more detail.

Also added the pinkish light at the top. Smile

RE: R.O.B. - Alpha Six - 12-30-2009

It doesn't look good at all, to be honest. I think ROB might do well with a 3/4 perspective as well, even though he's not exactly "human." hell, he could probably go with a different idle too.

Ouch.

I assume the picture on the left is of the old style, and the picture on the right is of the new style? I'd say that it's looking correctly proportional, and the perspective should stay. It looks a lot like his idle from Brawl too. All it needs is shading... and more poses...

RE: R.O.B. - MaverickETC - 12-30-2009

I really agree with a 3/4 view. It seems kinda weird to me that we can't see his eyes <=S

RE: R.O.B. - D2S-Speed - 12-30-2009

I kinda thought it would be 3/4 view, better just leave it to someone else. What kind of idle would he have though?

RE: R.O.B. - Alpha Six - 12-30-2009

Even if it's just something like his arms pointing down a bit lower or something, rather than jutting ALL the way forward. Being at a small slant down. There isn't really much you can do with ROB, what with him being an incredibly simple robot.

RE: R.O.B. - D2S-Speed - 12-30-2009

Kinda like Game & Watch there really is nothing we can do because he is kinda simple being a Two-Dimensional Character.

RE: R.O.B. - Wes - 12-30-2009

I kinda like the straight forward arms, and I think the side view works way better. Side view looks stiff and robotic, as do the forward arms. He lowers his arms during his idle animation anyways, so there's really no point in making them lower. But he's a robot, so why would he have an organic pose? It wouldn't hurt to try, but I just think he look more like ROB when he's sideways.
