How bout I help you with sprites or something? Ill make you guys a stage that's what i'm known for Wink

Please no more negative comments about me and the reason my sprites SUCKED before was cause I didn't know what kind of colors you wanted...

First off, we're not working on stages at the moment.
Second off, what kinda bullshat excuse is that. Not knowing what colors we wanted?.. wait, YOUR SPRITES?

You recolored my Mario with terrible colors (I bet you think those were great colors too) and fucked up his hands. I know you posted that with great confidence. What do you really expect when you posted that? The only reason "your" sprites sucked because they were dumbed down recolored versions on mine.

Now I suggest you get better and practice before you go ruining more spri- I mean helping out. I, personally, wouldn't trust you until I see any improvement.
Actually, don't try to improve on sprites for now or any time soon. If you want to help, help make animations.
My spriting skills have improved probably 100x since then. I actually never saw your other sprites before that so I didn't know what you guys wanted. Would you like a battlefield revamp? This game really needs a new on cause you got NO perspective whatsoever... You won't be Disapointed Wink

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Ninspriterx - 01-05-2011

Sir you baffle me. You're also probably a liar. How is it possible that haven't "my other sprites" and you still recolored and re-edited mine (terribly).
I hope you're not talking to me, personally. I have no perspective eh? I'm being realistic. My perspective is reality, and what we as the project need right now is the basic essentials done.

If you want to go sprite the battlefield do so. I would really like to see something so you could back yourself up with that "100x improvement." FYI that's not a probably thing, skills don't work that way. You don't wait a long time (in this case a short time) and expect your skills are "probably" 100 times better. You practice.

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Negative-Zer0 - 01-05-2011

I suppose the only way anyone would try and help out to make to sprites is if his project gains more popularity. When that new demo runouw said that he was working on is completed, i suggest that he post it on newgrounds or something. That is where ssf got it's start, and now look at how many people are dedicated to working on it. The only reason this project is moving extremely slow is becuase there is a small amount of people here who also have other priorities . Though there would be an SRK style influx of idiots, there will also be much needed talented team of spriters helping.

I suggest that he make a demo video showing what new things he added to the engine, provided that he added the much needed balance of knockback ,hitstun as well as damage as he should. This should excite people a small bit

...ugh.

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Tarvonas - 01-06-2011

Hey, give the guy a break, and a chance for that matter. He's offering help and we're turning him down as though we don't need it.

I'm a crap spriter, but I'm gradually getting better (I hope) by working here. He, unlike me, has had experience on the other hand. I can't see how having him here helping would damage the progress in any way shape or form..

I thought the idea anyways was to get a few characters (gooey, sukapon, pikachu, for example) and one stage finished. Why not let him work on a battlefield stage and see what he comes up with? I'm intrigued, personally. Smile

Lies

Anyway, I do agree with Tarvonas. Surely it's better to see if Clash can actually sprite stages well. I mean, Surely it's better if he were to give him a chance to improve rather than ignore anything to do with him. I know how much you guys love telling people that they are crap, but you too often jump to conclusions. Come on, at least see if he is as good as he has made out to be

lol.

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Ton - 01-06-2011

Tarv nailed it. Someone is offering to help. Why are you jumping all over him? Even if you don't think his stuff is up to snuff, he can still contribute the same way we all have; piece by piece.

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Alpha Six - 01-06-2011

Nin has the most reason to be frustrated with him, so I think he's allowed to have a reaction.

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Negative-Zer0 - 01-06-2011

Most of his posts were him coming off as a complete asshole. It's not the fact that he can't sprite well, its the fact that he has shown that he is complete childish when it comes to criticism, and overall. He even went as far as to say these sprites suck and praised how SSF2 was better, with a straight face even.

It's natural for people to feel this way about him with the way he has been acting.

RE: My honest thought on Smash Bros Project - Tarvonas - 01-06-2011

Thanks for that deleted sarcasm! Cute Means a lot actually.

I don't remember reading anything about him saying the sprites here were bad in comparison to McLeod Gaming's sprites? Unless I missed it.. In which case, yeah that's pretty bad, but I was worse when I first came here. O.o Sometimes people make bad first impressions, but it's up to us to give them a chance to turn it around, eh?

And I'd like to apologize for dragging this conversation on. Unsure
